Walking into this little cafe is like coming home. The colors are warm and inviting and the smell of pies baking is unmistakable. I have passed by this place almost a dozen times and I’ve always wanted to stop in – I’m so glad I did. It’s counter service so I walked up to the front where their divine looking desserts were on display. I asked about their sandwiches, which ones are most popular that sort of thing, and selected one call The Frenchman. And because I couldn’t pass it up I also ordered a slice of their banana foster cream pie. The have complimentary lemon water and regular water for patrons but there are a variety of teas you can choose from as well.
I took a seat at one of the barnwood-style tables and waited. I sipped the cool refreshing water and took in the decor. It really is such a cute, well-adorned place. I was called up promptly for my order and the girls behind the counter were so nice asking if there was anything else I needed. I was very impressed. I took my seat again and dove into my meal. The Frenchman is a roasted turkey sandwich with bacon, garlic aioli, and cheese on a warm, buttery croissant. The flavors were perfectly intertwined and it was very filling. I saved room for my dessert, of course, and it was amazing. The banana and cinnamon and caramel flavors all played together nicely and the wonderful cream topping was to die for. I enjoyed every single bite.
Proud Pie is definitely a hidden gem among the cafes here in Katy. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, the decor is spot on, and the food is even better than I had hoped. I will be visiting again and I hope you’ve been inspired to do so as well. If you want to learn more about them check out their Facebook and their website!
